Is there a torch you carry in your life? Something you’re willing to sacrifice your time or money for? Something you can’t help but tell others about?I bet there is.

Here’s mine:

Helping our military warriors and their families transition from the military into civilian life. My wife Monty and I went through this process and it was not an easy mountain to climb.

As a result, we founded Mission America. This non-profit connects civilians around the country with our warriors and their families at a community level.

Mission America is declaring the week of November 1-11 Military Transition Week.

It’s not just a week for us to celebrate Veterans Day and the Marine Corps birthday. Most of all, it’s a way to make ourselves more aware of the challenges and opportunities associated with the 200,000 American Warriors transitioning into civilian life each year.

There are several highlights that week for you to jump in on:

Be the first to get a copy of my new book

My second book, Mission America: Straight Talk About Military Transition, will be released on November 10. We’d love for you to head to Amazon and order your copy that day at a reduced price to help it reach best-selling book status.

Here’s the deal:

All of my author proceeds will go back to Mission America and continue to serve our veterans. And, helping this become a best seller means that together we can change the conversation on military transition.

Stay tuned to our Mission America Facebook Page and my official Facebook Page for further details on how to get your copy on launch day. Or you can sign up here for more info on Mission America: Straight Talk About Military Transition.

Host your own War Fighters watch party

Next, on Veterans Day wounded hero and Green Beret Romy Camargo, along with his brave Special Forces Detatchment 7115, will be honored on the History Channel series “War Fighters.”

Mission America sponsors Romy and Gaby Camargo and their Stay in Step Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Center. Because we see them as such a compelling example of successful military transition, we often link arms with this couple.

I need to tell you:

We can’t let another Veteran’s Day pass as just a blip on our radar. Another 24-hour period where we pay homage to those who have served, but we never truly step up for them.

This year, we want to raise $100,000 for Stay In Step Center so that they can further expand their support to warriors with spinal cord injuries and make a lasting impact on veterans and their families.

How can you help?

We would like you to host a watch party in your hometown for the War Fighters episode which will air on November 11 at 10 p.m. EST.

Gather friends and family at your favorite pub, eatery, or even at your house. Help us celebrate the amazing heroism of our veterans and our own wounded hero Romy Camargo by being part of our nation-wide Stay in Step watch party.

Finally, ask folks to jump on their smart phone during the party and make a tax-deductible donation toward our $100,000 goal.

OK patriots, that’s it for now. We’re counting on you next week to make Military Transition Week something special for all our warriors and their families who have given so much!

Scott
